TELE THERAPY AVT

As patients look for more accessible ways to get healthcare, the use of tele practice in healthcare has increased over the past few years. The use of information & technology in healthcare is perceived to play a significant role in the delivery of health care services. It has the potential to enhance patient quality of care, lower costs, and improve procedures in contemporary healthcare.

Tele practice AVT is also one of the recent advancements in this field. Intervention and rehabilitation after fitting of hearing technology is essential to achieve the best communication outcomes for individuals with hearing loss. Traditionally, AVT sessions are conducted face-to-face, but following the pandemic, tele practice has emerged as a more secure and reliable option for patients.

Regardless of a client's location, tele practice provides individualized rehabilitation services. Clients can take part in tele-rehabilitation if they have access to high-speed Internet and use off-the-shelf technology. This minimizes the need for frequent family travel, which cuts down related expenses, time commitments, and other stressors.

Here are few advantages Tele practice offers:

  • Parents and caregivers do not have to travel, saving time and other resources.

  • Children are more comfortable, because they are in their own home with their parents and using familiar toys.

  • Adults may also be more comfortable receiving services in their own homes.

  • The setting is the natural environment, and carryover of targeted communication goals and objectives into the child’s or adult’s daily routines can be easier.

An auditory-verbal therapist creates activities for the child's listening and spoken language goals during a face-to-face session. The exercise is demonstrated by the therapist during the session, after which the parent is given control of it. The therapist has a coaching position and instructs the parents on how to connect with their kid to promote listening and spoken language.

When performing AVT over the phone, the therapist takes great care to explain to the parent exactly how to get ready for, introduce, and engage in an activity with their kid. During a session, the therapist records the child's performance, and the parent and therapist talk about the child's development after each session.

Tele practice removes several barriers, such as family’s hectic schedules, pandemics, and the lack of a qualified therapist in a location nearby.

BHII has recently come up with the service of tele practice where we offer the facility to overcome such barriers and make the process of AVT smoother and easier for our patients.

At BHII we have one of the most skilled audiologists who have experience in tele practice which sets us apart from any other center in India as tele practice is not widely practiced across the country.
